chicken + dumplings

My sister-in-law, Tiffany, gave me this recipe a 4 years ago and I have been cooking it ever since!  It’s perfect for the cooler weather coming up (slowly but surely here in Florida).  I made it last week and ate it 3 days in row – every meal.  It’s that fantastic!  I don’t know the exact details of the recipe so I’m just going to use cute words in lieu of actual measurements …

chicken_dumplings

3 boneless chicken breasts

1 canister of homestyle 8 -10 biscuits

a bunch of flour

one bottle of everglades seasoning

a cup of chicken broth

Feeds an army of 8

Directions:  Pour the everglades all over the chicken in a way that seems like “Oh my God this is way too much”! Boil the chicken for one hour.  While waiting cut the biscuits into little dough squares and flour them down … like go crazy with the flour.  Once the chicken is done cooking take it out of the pan and slice it all up.  You then pour in the chicken broth for a bit more flavor.  Put the dumplings in one by one then throw in the chicken and let it cook for 25 more minutes … Then enjoy! Oh and then i toss in a half a stick of butter – ya know just in case!
